Gecko SA offers a range of evidence-informed therapeutic and skill-building programs designed to support emotional development, social skills, confidence, and overall wellbeing. Supports can be delivered individually or in small groups, and may occur in the home, community, or educational settings (with appropriate consent). Programs are tailored to the participant’s developmental stage, needs, and goals, and are delivered using a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach.

Emotional Literacy & Regulation Programs

We deliver a number of recognised programs that support children to understand and manage emotions, develop communication skills, and build resilience, including:

• Worry Woo – Embrace Your Emotions

• Kimochis

• Therapeutic Doll Play

These programs are well suited to children from Pre-Kindy to Year 6 and focus on helping participants:

• Identify and express emotions safely

• Build emotional awareness and resilience

• Develop strategies for managing big feelings

• Strengthen communication and connection

Sessions are adapted to each child’s developmental level and learning style.

Circle of Security–Informed Support

Gecko SA can also provide Circle of Security–informed support, working alongside children, young people, and their caregivers to strengthen emotional safety, attachment, and relationships.

This approach supports:

• Understanding children’s emotional needs

• Strengthening caregiver–child relationships

• Promoting secure attachment and emotional regulation

• Building capacity within families and support networks

Circle of Security principles may be integrated into individual support, family-focused work, or broader therapeutic programs, depending on need and goals.

SHINE SA – Relationships & Sexual Health Education

Gecko SA offers SHINE SA aligned relationships and sexual health education, delivered in a developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed way.

These sessions support participants to understand:

• Personal safety and boundaries

• Consent and respectful relationships

• Healthy friendships

• Body awareness and personal development

Content is tailored to age, developmental level, and individual needs.
